Series
Course Maps & Description
Burke Lake offers several distinct course configurations depending on the starting shelter. Shelter A routes run on fairly flat, well-maintained trail with some roots — out-and-back for the 5k and 10k, twice out-and-back for the half. Shelter C routes are mostly paved with a short gravel section and limited elevation gain. The Fireworks and Fall Burke Lake courses combine paved road with trail, with the first and last half mile on pavement.
5K/10K (Shelter A): Flat, well-maintained forest trail with some roots. Out-and-back.
Half (Shelter A): Same trail as the 5k/10k out-and-back, done twice.
5K/10K (Shelter C): Mostly paved path with a short gravel section. Limited elevation gain.
12K (Shelter C, Running Out of Time): Mostly paved with gravel section. 5k portion is flat; 12k adds some hills.
5K/10K (Fireworks/Fall Burke Lake): Combination of paved road and trail. First and last half mile on paved roads; trail section has some roots but no major elevation.
Back of the Pack (BOTP)
What is the Back of the Pack (BOTP)? It is not a cut off time, it is actually a series we have geared towards people who average higher than the BOTP listed above. This allows runners of similar pace to compete with each other and get series points.
BOTP Pace: 11:30 min/mile

Race medal designs can be viewed on the Friday before the race on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Social Media Challenge
On Tuesdays we pick our favorite Instagram or Facebook post from the previous race weekend. The winner receives 50% off a future race! Tag us in your race photos.

Rain or shine or sleet or snow. We will email registered runners and post on social media if the race is cancelled, but this is quite rare.

Portajohns will be available near the start/finish line. Volunteers can direct you to facilities.
